Scope
Nanoscience and nanotechnology are amongst the fastest evolving scientific areas of the new century. The fascinating new properties of units of molecular and atomic dimensions will help to deal with the challenges of research in the future. New energy storage devices, new tiny printable batteries, coatings with switchable properties, and controllable catalysts are examples of such new materials. Following on from the first conference on functional nanocoatings in Budapest in 2008, the second conference will again bring together specialists of all types of film preparation, PVD, CVD, electrochemical deposition, etc, as well as people having analytical experience in the field. This interdisciplinary approach is intended to stimulate new developments in areas such as:
- Coatings with improved properties, such as hardness, wear or corrosion resistance
- Coatings with controllable properties
- Coatings for solar energy conversion
- Photovoltaic application
- Biocompatible and bioactive coatings
- Multilayer devices
- Nanoscale characterization techniques
- Theoretical approaches of film formation and growth
A variety of industrial branches are concerned by these developments. First to mention are branches specialized in surface treatment, but also chemical companies, steel makers, car manufacturers, battery and sensor producers. Participants whose area of interest encompasses these areas are all invited to be informed of the present status of research as well as to take part in the discussion on future developments. It is also our pleasure to invite companies who share these interests to take part in the exhibition.
